Woman jailed for Assaulting three emergency workers

Just after 7pm on Friday 18 March, police attended an incident in the area of Cobden Road and Manor Farm Road, Bitterne.

It was reported that a female had, unprovoked, kicked over a motorbike belonging to a gentleman, before assaulting him and being racially abusive towards him.

On arrival, the police arrested the female, but she proceeded to assault three officers. She was then transported to Southampton Central Police Station.

She was later charged with one count of assault, one count of criminal damage and three counts of assaulting an emergency worker.

Yesterday, Robyn Ray, 47 of no fixed abode appeared at Southampton Magistrates and pleaded guilty to all of the offences. In turn, she was sentenced to 6 month in prison.

On the sentencing, a police spokesperson confirmed that the courts recognised the threats posed by Robyn Ray. Further, they considered it right to have her sent to prison in order to better protect the general public.
