Woman fractures spine in altercation – two arrested

The police are appealing for witnesses following an incident at Dowd’s Farm Park, off Wellstead Way, Hedge End.

They received a report of an altercation taking place involving a group of people.  This happened some time between 5:30pm and 7:30pm on Thursday 7 July.

During the incident, a woman in her 20s suffered a broken sternum and a spinal fracture.

Following police enquiries, they arrested a 24 year old male from Bursledon and a 23 year old female from Botley, on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

They have been bailed until 5 August whilst police continue their enquiries.

They would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or the events leading up to it.  It is believed other people were in the park at the time, including a group of young people and someone with a small dog.
