Witness appeal after pedestrian hit by car

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.

Just after 11:20pm on Wednesday (4 January) they received reports of an accident on West Quay Road, near to the junction with Southern Road. For ease, this is the junction with Dock Gate 10 on one side, and Central Police Station on the other.

The incident involved a pedestrian and a silver Mercedes AMG.

The pedestrian, a 35-year-old man from Totton, suffered life changing (but not life-threatening) injuries, and was taken to hospital.

At this time, no arrests have been made. However, police are continuing with their investigation and would like to speak to any witnesses and/or anyone with relevant dashcam or CCTV footage.
