Weapons and Class A drugs discovered as man is arrested in Southampton

Yesterday evening (6 March), a man was arrested in connection with drug supply offences in Southampton.

At 10:34pm Southampton police approached a black BMW car, which was parked in Bellevue Road, SO15. After communicating with the driver, who was in the car at the time, they searched the vehicle.

Large quantities of Class A and class B drugs were seized. In addition, police found £5,000 in cash, weighing scales, a metal pole and a knuckle duster.

The driver, a 42-year-old man from Southampton, was arrested on suspicion of;

-Possession with intent to supply a Class A drug -Possession with intent to supply a Class B drug -Possession of an offensive weapon in a public place -Possession of criminal property 
-Money laundering in connection with the Proceeds of Crime Act 

He remains in police custody at this time.
