Two vehicles stopped for two separate drug offences in Waterside area

Police in and around the Waterside area had a little success last week and arrested and charged two males for two separate drug related incidents.

On Thursday 28 July, police stopped a vehicle, as it was identified as having no MOT or insurance. The stop took place in Kitcher Close, Hythe, shortly before 7pm.

Mustapha Fofanah, 27 of Thurlow Street in Southwark, London, was charged with a number of offences, namely; being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug, driving without a valid licence, driving without valid insurance and driving a vehicle with no MOT.

The following day, Friday 29 July, after an initial stop request was denied in Blackwater Drive, Totton, police did catch up with the driver. This was around 8pm.

The driver, Unisa Salisu, again from out of the area was charged with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs. Salisu, 29, is from Brackley Road, Lewisham.

Fofanah appeared at Southampton Magistrates on Saturday where he was remanded into custody. His appearance at Southampton Crown Court is set for 2 September.

Salisu appeared at the Magistrates Court today, 1 August. He too was remanded into custody and his next court date has been set for the same date, 2 September.
