Two arrested in connection with Sholing store burglary

At around 4:30am yesterday morning, Tuesday, 12 September, 2023, the police received a report of a burglary at the Sholing Video store located on St. Monica Road. Entry had been forcefully gained, and a substantial quantity of vaping products had been stolen. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

Officers responded to the scene and discovered a stolen vehicle abandoned outside the store, which had been reported stolen from Curdridge back in July. This discovery raised suspicions of a potential connection between the vehicle theft and the Sholing store burglary.

An active investigation was launched immediately, with officers pursuing leads and collecting evidence related to the incident. In a significant breakthrough, two individuals have been taken into custody in connection with the burglary.

The suspects, a 32 year old man and a 28 year old man, both residents of Southampton, were apprehended on suspicion of burglary. As of now, they remain in custody while officers work to unravel the details of their involvement in the incident.
