Teenager arrested for theft and drug offences

Police were out and about in the Coxford area yesterday and had some success.

They were on patrol looking for stolen motorbikes and spotted a bike without plates in Bransbury Close. As it happens, the bike had been stolen so arrangements are being made to reunite it with its rightful owner.

Shortly after the find, police arrested a 17 year old from Southampton on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.

On searching his home address, many items were found and seized including mobile phones and weighing scales. In addition, they found a box containing  ‘white powder’ (we don’t imagine it was the type you pat on yourself after a warm bath).

Unsurprisingly, the teenager has been further arrested on  suspicion of possessing a controlled Class A drug. He’s been released pending further enquiries.

Police are keen to tackle the ongoing issue of stolen motorbikes. They’d therefore urge people to contact them on 101 or online with any information that could help.
