Southampton woman arrested for racially aggravated public order and other offences

A 40 year old Southampton woman was arrested yesterday following an incident at the large Asda store in Chandlers Ford.

Police were called at around 3:15pm to reports that a lady had attempted to steal a quantity of alcohol. On arrival,  police arrested the lady, and also carried out a search of her possessions.

During their search, police found a device that is used to remove the tags from bottles; the kind you’d find used by stores at the check outs. Understandably, this device was seized.

During the arrest for theft, the lady became aggressive and is said to have racially abused a security guard. She further went on to assault a police officer.

For her troubles, the woman was further arrested for going equipped (for theft), racially aggrevated public order and assaulting an emergency worker.

It’ll come as no surprise that the lady remains in custody.
