Southampton man sentenced to 7.5 years for drug offences

A 28 year old Southampton man was sentenced on Friday to seven years and six months in prison. This is in respect of  supplying drugs in the city.

Prince Jr Kroma, of Newcombe Road, was arrested in April last year. In court earlier this month, he was found guilty by a jury of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug – heroin.

Prior to his arrest, Kroma had been identified as playing a key role in selling the drug in the city. A mobile phone in his possession showed that he was the holder of the ‘Gucci’ drugs line.

When writing previously about drug related crime, we’ve emphasised the importance of police action. Irrespective of the drug type, it is harmful to many for a number of reasons. The ripple effect of a supply chain impacts any community, as it’s more often than not associated with other crimes. In addition, vulnerable adults and even children are often exploited in the process.

If you’re concerned or suspicious about anyone in respect of drug dealing, please do the right thing and let the police know.
