Six arrested in drug busts

Officers investigating drug supply offences were in action in the city centre on Wednesday this week, 2 November. Two separate incidents resulted in a total of six people being arrested.

The first incident was during the day, when officers executed a search warrant. Two males, 43 and 47 years old, together with a 44 year old female, all local, were subsequently arrested on suspicion of drug supply offences. Two have been bailed and one was released under investigation.

The second incident was in the evening at a different address. Again, two males, 22 and 48 years old, and one female aged 30 were arrested for the same offence as those earlier in the day. All three were released under investigation whilst more evidence is gathered.

Police have confirmed that tackling drug related crime is a priority, as it can and does lead to many other crimes.
