Salisbury man dies in tragic collision on Marchwood Bypass

Salisbury man, Dr Guy Powell, tragically died following a collision on the A326 Marchwood bypass. 

The incident occurred at some time between 6.50pm and 6.55pm on Monday, (6 March) and involved a pedestrian and two vehicles; a Volkswagen Transporter and a Suzuki Swift.

The pedestrian, 68 year old Dr Guy Powell, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Dr Powell’s family have paid tribute to him, describing him as a dedicated and loving husband and father, with an unwavering commitment to helping patients with their mental health issues.

The police are investigating the incident and are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who may have seen someone waiting to cross the road at the location to come forward. They are also requesting that anyone who may have been passing through the area between 6.45pm and 6.55pm, and who has a dash-cam fitted to their vehicle, contact them with any relevant footage.
