Police presence around Foundry Lane, here’s why

If you’re around the area of Foundry Lane, you may notice an increased police presence. Police have provided information to explain this.

Around school finishing time yesterday, 26 April, it was reported that a white van had been seen driving very slowly, and very near to a 10 year old girl. There were two males in the van. It frightened her a little and so it was duly reported.

Police have reviewed CCTV, and there’s nothing to suggest anything untoward was going on. Further, the men never stopped the vehicle nor attempted to communicate with the girl. However, they recognise and accept the concern it caused, and so wanted to show some more presence in the area.

Police have urged the public to continue reporting any suspicious activity via 101. Without reports, they cannot react.
