Police In The Community – Have Your Say

As a community, everyone has an opinion on the work the police do.

Sharing those opinions in community groups, on your timelines and in conversations with your friends, won’t change anything.

The police, pre Covid-19, had regular meetings with the people of the community.  During these meetings, residents were able to discuss their issues about crime in their areas, and were provided with crime stats specific to their area.

During the meeting the police and the residents agreed a priority list of crimes types to focus on for the next few months, until the next PACT meeting.

We attended a number of these events, but one of the things we noticed every time was the lack of residents attending.

If you live in Peartree or Woolston, here is a message from “Southampton Cops”. Get the date in your diary, spread the word and get your chance to have your say; it’s what people have been asking for so don’t waste the opportunity.

“Peartree and Woolston NPT will be hosting a PACT Meeting on Tuesday 8th February at 18:45 at Weston Court. Please add this date and time to your diary if you wish to attend, we look forward to seeing you there!

I live in Bisley Court, Sholing. Last year we were visited by 2 PC’s regarding a fake NHS worker offering Covid jabs for £75 . During the conversation I was told they were looking for volunteers to assist them in a scheme which was being set up regarding speeding drivers in the area, and if they got enough interest we would be contacted. I expressed interest as Butts Road is like a race track as being such a long straight road we have more than our fair share of speeding traffic. To date I have not heard anymore and was wondering if it is still being considered.
Could you update the situation in regard to this. Thankyou.

    • Hi, we will raise the question and respond to you with the details, it sounds like a good scheme. Many thanks.
