Police Appeal for Help to Find Victims of Racist and Misogynistic Abuse in Southampton

Police are appealing for help to find the victims of public order offences that took place on Friday, 10 March. The incidents happened near to Southampton Central train station at around 4pm.

The victims are understood to be three teens, made up of one black male, and two white females. They were seen to be around the taxi rank, before visiting Costa Coffee and then the local Co-op.

A member of the public reported that the three teens had been repeatedly verbally abused by a man. He was witnessed shouting racist and misogynistic language towards them.

On deploying to the area, police arrested a 48 year old man. He was arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated threatening, abusive and insulting words and threatening behaviour causing harassment, alarm or distress. The man has since been bailed whilst investigations continue.
