Man steals charity collection boxes from Poundland

Police are appealing for help to identify a man who may be able to assist with their enquiries. This comes after a burglary took place in Shirley at the weekend.

Between 3:20am and 3:30am on Sunday 14 August, Poundland on the High Street was broken into by breaking the glass in the door.

Breaking into Poundland may raise a few eyebrows, but on this occasion, the culprit wasn’t aiming for a specific aisle. Instead, charity collection boxes were all stolen, which will be sure to have an impact on many.

Various enquiries have been made, and police have now released a CCTV image of a man they’d like to speak to. The image is here for all to see, but the man is described as follows;

White
40-50 years of age
Approximately 5’6″ in height
Average build
Short, cropped, dark hair

He was wearing a bright red Fila t-shirt with a large white and blue logo on the front.

Police are asking the public to come forward if you can help identify the man. Similarly, they are asking for any witnesses to come forward with any other details that could help with their investigation.
