Man charged following brawl outside Southampton pub

Police have now provided an update following a brawl outside a pub after midnight Thursday, into Friday morning.

Officers were called to the area of the Robin Hood pub, Sholing, at around 00:15 following reports of an altercation involving a number of people.

During the incident, a man suffered serious head injuries and it’s thought that a baseball bat was used. That man, in his 30s, remains in hospital at this time.

A 33 year old Southampton man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, but has since been released under investigation.

A second man, Thomas Kerby, aged 27, from Stride Gardens, Bursledon, has been charged. He will appear at Southampton Magistrates Court tomorrow, 22 August. He’s been charged with GBH with intent, and possession of an offensive weapon.
