Man charged after teenager raped in Southampton

On Sunday morning, police were alerted, as a report was made that a 17 year old female had been raped in the early hours of the morning (17th April). The incident is said to have taken place in a male’s car in Millbrook, and he was unknown to the victim.

Police made a number of enquiries as part of their investigation. In turn, a man was arrested and charged.

20 year old Ismail Mahmood from Bishopsfield Road in Fareham has been charged with rape. In addition, he was charged with failing to comply with a community protection notice.

Mahmood appeared in court today, and has been further remanded to appear at Southampton Crown Court on 23 May.
