Drug dealer found with pistol, ammo and a silencer

On Thursday last week, 11 August, a 25 year old Southampton man was sentenced to five and a half years in prison.

Kiran Porter, from Honeysuckle Road, had previously been under investigation for a number of offences across 2020 and 2021.

Over time, searches of his vehicle and property, found Porter to be in possession of a number of things, not limited to;

Cocaine with a street value estimated at £24k
A pistol, silencer and fifty 9mm bullets
£80,200 cash hidden in a holdall in a wardrobe
130g of chemical agents commonly found mixed with cocaine
5 mobile phones
Cannabis

In court last week, he was jailed for possessing a firearm and large quantities of cocaine, having previously pleaded guilty to various offences.

Via an online statement, DC Hollie Cartwright from the Serious Organised Crime Unit said:

“Porter is a dangerous individual and by taking him, a large quantity of Class A drugs and a gun off the streets, Southampton is a safer place.

“Drug supply, firearms and serious violence come hand in hand, which is why reducing drug-related harm is one of our top priorities in Southampton.

“I hope our investigation shows that we will do all in our power to protect our communities and encourages members of the public to report any drug related activity to us.”
