Car break in overnight in Woolston

This is a request for help following a car break in last night in Woolston.

Chancers were in Porchester Road, Woolston some time during the night. They were able to gain access to at least one vehicle that we know of.

The vehicle in question was locked by the owner last night, and was still locked this morning when they discovered it had been broken into; it’s designed to lock itself after 10 minutes of the key being out of the ignition.

Thankfully, and to be commended, there was nothing of notable value left in the car. Those responsible did turf out the glove box and manage to find some loose change, but nothing else.

Do you also live in and around the area? Did you have a similar experience? If so, please let us know. Equally, if you have any access to footage that may have captured anyone trying to break into cars, please pass this on to the police so they can investigate further.

On this occasion, the owner was quite lucky, albeit it’s not a nice thing to be faced with. Please do as they did and ensure that nothing of value is left in vehicles overnight; look out for each other too.

To the victim in this case, thank you for allowing us to share the story and raise awareness.
