Arrest made for suspected drug offences but two others evaded the police

Totton police made an arrest in the town centre yesterday, 14 July, but two others ‘escaped’ the situation.

Around 4:20pm, police followed a BMW into Totton Retail car park on Commercial Road. Concerns had been raised around relevant documentation.

When the BMW came to a stop, the driver and passenger left the vehicle in haste, and searches for them were to no avail. Subsequently though, a third person, who remained in the car, was spoken to.

A search of the vehicle was conducted and a quantity of Class B drugs were found. The drugs were seized, along with mobile phones, and the car itself.

The 48 year old passenger of the BMW, of no fixed abode, was duly arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class B drug. He remains in custody at this time.

Enquiries continue into this situation, with police still investigating who the other two persons were.
