Another van stolen in Southampton

During our attendance at a recent PACT meeting, it was highlighted by the police that van theft across the city has been on the rise. It’s further suspected that the vans being stolen are being used for other crimes. What is often the case too is that number plates are targeted with a view to swapping them over on like for like vehicles.

On the back of the above, it’s been highlighted today that a long wheelbase, Ford Transit van was stolen some time on 2 February 2022. The registration plate of the van is CP16 FBZ and it was taken from Lower Brownhill Road, SO16. Naturally, the owner is devastated and would welcome any help in locating and recovering the van.

Whilst we can’t be certain, it could be that this van is now being driven with different registration plates. We already know that plates from the same van type were taken from not too far away some time on 3 February. This could of course be a coincidence, but the registration of the other plates was WR20 NPV.

Please keep a lookout for these plates on White, LWB transits. The gentleman who had the van stolen has reported it and the crime reference number is 44220046951. If you have any information that could help, please call 101 or message us directly, in confidence.
