Police chase – Man charged with multiple offences

On Saturday (26 March), Southampton Police arrested a male following a pursuit that began on Northam Road around 10:45pm.  The pursuit ended when the driver of a Corsa stopped the vehicle and unsuccessfully tried to lose the police on foot on Park Road.

Earlier on in the evening, the same black Vauxhall Corsa had been stolen from Park Walk, SO14.  

Callum Hickman, 22, from Golden Grove, Southampton, was charged with:

– aggravated vehicle taking and dangerous driving

-causing serious injury by dangerous driving

-driving a motor vehicle dangerously

-driving a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol

-driving whilst disqualified

-failing to stop after a road accident

-using a motor vehicle in a public place without third party insurance

-common assault of an emergency worker

He was remanded to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court this morning, 28 March, where he was further remanded to appear at Southampton Crown Court on 29 April.
