Slow down! Cat hit by van in SO19

Sad news to report that a cat has been hit by a large white van this evening.

A witness contacted us a short time ago to confirm that the incident happened on Bridge Road, Woolston. We don’t have any information about the van or driver, but from the witness, it would appear that the driver would have realised something had been hit; alas, he/she didn’t have the courtesy or decency to stop.

The witness (and neighbouring homeowners) were able to locate the owner of the cat and it has been taken to the vets to be assessed. At this stage, all we can say is that its back legs are not in a good way; we can only hope that the Vet is able to help.

Please, some of the roads we travel down frequently are narrow with cars parked on both sides narrowing them further. A few miles an hour slower is all it could take to prevent these unfortunate incidents occurring.

Thoughts now are with the cat owner.

  • do you know what color the cat was?

    • Hi, we are unsure on the colour. We do know that the owner was found and informed.
