Police appeal for help in locating wanted man in connection with murder in Southampton

Southampton police are seeking help from the public in finding Leighton Tabone, a 23 year old man wanted in connection with the murder of 64 year old Mark Noke. Mr Noke died of a stab wound at his home in Thornhill on 25 February.

Tabone is also wanted for breaching his licence conditions in connection with a knife possession offence he was convicted of last year. He has links to both Southampton and Gosport.

Acting DCI Howard Broadribb, who is leading the investigation into the murder, has urged Tabone to come forward. Broadribb has also reminded anyone harbouring Tabone that they may be committing an offence and could be arrested themselves.

Police have conducted numerous enquiries to locate Tabone but have been unable to find him. They are now turning to the public for help. Anyone who sees Tabone should not approach him and should instead call 999 immediately.

Tabone is described as being 5ft 11ins tall with a slim build. He has short blond hair, brown eyes, and a moustache and goatee. However, he may also be clean shaven.

Extra officers are on patrol in the Thornhill area following Mr Noke’s death. Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to contact the police on 101 or online via their website, quoting reference number 44230077698 or Operation Hibiscus. Information can also be sent anonymously to Crimestoppers by phone or via their website.
