27 Year Old Man Arrested on Suspicion of Sexual Assault in Southampton’s Hoglands Park

Police in Southampton have arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of sexual assault following an incident that occurred in Hoglands Park. 

The incident was reported to have taken place at around 1:30am on Saturday, (11 March), when a 19 year old woman was walking through the park and was approached by a man she did not know. According to reports, the man engaged her in conversation before sexually assaulting her over her clothing.

The woman reported the incident to the police, who made an appeal to the public for help yesterday (11 March). Since this appeal, the police have arrested a suspect on suspicion of sexual assault. The 27 year old man remains in custody while the investigation continues.

Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation. Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area of Hoglands Park at around 1:30am on 11 March is also being asked to contact the police.
