Update: Two arrested in connection with fatal road traffic collision in Southampton

Two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a fatal road traffic collision in Southampton. The suspects, aged 17 and 19, were released on police bail to return on 5 June.

The incident occurred just before 1am on 5 March, when police were called to a collision on Middle Road, Sholing. A black Vauxhall Corsa had reportedly collided with several parked cars. The vehicle was carrying three teenage males, one of whom sadly died at the scene. The deceased was an 18 year old from Southampton, and his next of kin have been notified and are receiving support from specialist officers. The two other males in the Corsa suffered serious injuries.

Police are appealing for information from anyone who may have seen the collision or the moments leading up to it. They are particularly keen to speak to anyone who has relevant dash-cam footage of the Corsa travelling south on Middle Road towards Station Road.

Anyone with information that could assist the police with their enquiries is urged to contact them on 101, quoting incident number 44230089247.
