Two men charged after discovery of cannabis factory

Another day, another drug supply operation weeded out.

Swift action by police this week has resulted in two men being arrested and subsequently charged for drug related offences.

Just after 9:30am on Tuesday, 14 February, a cannabis factory was discovered at a residential address in Coventry Road, off Wilton Avenue.

In total, 164 plants were being cultivated in the property, all of which will be destroyed. Further, the methods used in the cultivation process will be dismantled.

Whilst at the address, two males got a Valentines Day surprise  when they were found in the loft space. They were duly arrested on suspicion of being involved in the cultivation of cannabis.

On Wednesday, the pair were charged with producing a controlled Class B drug. 50 year old Ylber Selaj, of no fixed abode and 21 year old Edison Visha of Coventry Road were remanded, and will appear for sentencing at Southampton Crown Court on Wednesday 8 March.
