Police release CCTV image of man wanted in connection with assault in Southampton

Police officers investigating an assault in Southampton have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident. The assault, which occurred on Sunday 12 February, left a man in his 50s with slash wounds to his face and upper body.

The victim was reportedly approached by an unknown person outside Fairchild House on Southampton Street at around 7:20pm. Police believe that the man in the image was in the area at the time and may be able to assist with their investigation.

Police have assured the public that they believe this was an isolated incident and that there is no wider risk to public safety. However, they are urging anyone who has information about the incident or who recognises the man in the image to come forward.
