Southampton City Council are looking to improve play areas in Weston

Southampton City Council are seeking input from the community on how to make the play areas in Weston even better. They have earmarked a £200,000 investment to improve play areas in the region, and the goal is to create an environment that is both fun and engaging for children and young people.

Unfortunately, the existing play area on Weston Shore will have to be removed and returned to its natural coastline, with a picnic area provided instead. However, the council is committed to making up for this loss by creating an even more exciting play area at Eddie’s Play Trail, which is only a two-minute walk away from Weston Shore.

The council are inviting residents to take part in a survey or come along and speak to the team on Friday 17 February at Eddie’s Play Trail. The Southampton Children’s Play Association, Junior Neighbourhood Wardens and Monty’s Bike Hub will also be joining with fun games, activities and pop-up play to make the event more exciting.

They are hopeful that this investment will not only benefit the children and young people of Weston but also the wider community. The improved play areas will be a great place for families to spend time together and enjoy the natural beauty of the region. With the input and ideas of the local community, the council are confident that they can create a play area that will be enjoyed for years to come.

Take their survey or pop along and speak to them on Friday 17 February at Eddie’s Play Trail.
