Dibden man facing multiple shoplifting charges

A man has been charged in connection with a series of shoplifting incidents in the New Forest area

Lee Paul Barnes, a 40 year old resident of Round Copse in Dibden, is facing charges for multiple thefts, including the theft of vodka from Waitrose on Hythe High Street on 14 February, the theft of meat from Tesco Express on Langdown Lawn on 13 February, and the theft of various items worth approximately £55 from the same Tesco Express on 25 January. 

He has also been charged with stealing a number of chocolate bars worth £44 from the Tesco store at the service station on Beaulieu Road in Dibden Purlieu.

In addition to these theft charges, Barnes has been charged with three counts of violating a restraining order that prohibited him from entering Tesco stores in connection with these offences.

Barnes has been remanded in custody and is set to appear before Southampton Magistrates Court today, (15 February), to face the charges.
