Police arrest male on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle

A man has been arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle. This comes following a couple of incidents in Portswood today, 13 February.

In the early hours, around 2:30am, the drivers window of a taxi was smashed. The taxi was parked in Shakespere Avenue, and approximately £30 in change was taken.

Soon after, another taxi was broken into in the same way, but just around the corner in Portswood Avenue. This time, although it’s clear the car was searched, nothing was taken.

Once police deployed to the area, they arrested a man. The 27 year old remains in custody .
