Winchester Man Jailed for Nine Burglaries

After no fewer than nine separate burglaries, a man was jailed last week. He was sentenced to four and a half years behind bars.

57 year old Mark Christopher Griffiths of Romsey Road in Winchester was prolific in his antics, and not just close to home either. He stolen from people’s homes, including the following;

• At around 11.45am on 7 October 2022 he burgled an address on Church Lane, Lymington

• On the same morning, 7 October, he forced entry to an address on Heron Close, Sway, and stole a quantity of cash and jewellery.

• On the morning of 29 November 2022, he burgled a house on Main Road, Littleton, and stole a purse.

On sentencing, the judge considered other burglaries too, but it’s evident that him being off the streets for a period of time is a good thing; let’s hope that allows him a bit of reflection – we live in hope.
