Man hit with brick, hospitalised, after assault

A serious assault took place in Cedar Road, Southampton, on Monday, 6 February, at around 4:12pm.

The victim, a 31-year-old man, was hit over the head with a brick and was immediately taken to the hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

According to eyewitnesses, the victim was with two men and another woman immediately before the attack. The police have released the following descriptions of the three individuals:

– A man aged 25 to 30, 6ft to 6ft 2ins tall, mixed race, slim build, with grown out afro-Caribbean hair, and wearing a florescent orange jacket with straight leg dark jeans.

– A man aged 25 to 30, 5ft 10ins to 6ft tall, Black, athletic build, with short hair and wearing a black jacket with red trim around the hood and dark trousers.

– A woman aged 25 to 30, 5ft 5ins to 5ft 7ins tall, White, skinny build, with dark, long hair loosely tied back, wearing blue jeans and a dark coloured top and riding a bike.

The police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the assault or have any information about the three individuals described to come forward and contact them on 101 or report online via their website, quoting 44230050780.

Any information, no matter how small, could be crucial in catching those responsible.
