Dealer involved in supplying drugs in Hythe and Eastleigh jailed

A Southampton based drug dealer, primarily operating in Hythe and Eastleigh was last week sentenced to three years in prison.

27 year old Kareem Francis appeared at Southampton Crown Court on Thursday 12 January, having previously pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin.

The sentencing follows activity in October last year. After spotting a car suspected in being used for drug deals, police followed it from Meon Crescent to Winchester Road. On stopping the vehicle and carrying out a search, police undercovered mobile phones, Class A drugs, £1000 cash, scales, among other items. More drugs were also found during a later search at a hotel room in Ocean Village, booked into by Francis.

The drug line was known to be referred to as ‘Smal Boi’, as taken from messages on Francis’ phone.

Via a post put on social media, PC Daniel Martin, the leading officer in the case said;

“We will not tolerate Class A drugs being supplied in Southampton; as well as the harm it causes to those taking the drugs, it brings organised crime, violence, weapons and exploitation of vulnerable adults and children into our community.

“By taking Francis off our streets Southampton is that much safer.

“Please continue to report information about drug dealing in your neighbourhood – you are our eyes and ears and help us to achieve results like this.”
