Arrest made following burglary in Swaythling

Following an investigation into a burglary that took place in Monks Way, Swaythling, police have provided an update.

In the early hours of Friday morning, 6 January, three garages were broken into, and a large quantity of gardening equipment and tools, a motorcycle, and a bicycle were stolen.

During their investigations, police followed up on a number of lines of enquiry, which included conducting house to house visits in the local area.  This resulted in them identifying a person of interest.

A 35 year old male was arrested on suspicion of burglary other than dwelling with intent to steal, causing criminal damage and theft of a motor vehicle. A number of items were recovered also.

The man has now been released on conditional bail until Saturday 8 April while police make further enquiries.
