Man burgled home while owners were asleep then used credit cards in nearby stores

Earlier this year, on the 23 May, a burglar entered a house while the occupants were asleep and stole several items.

The burglary took place on Hill Lane, Shirley between midnight and 06:10am. The burglar entered through a back door and stole a camera, laptop and credit cards.

Shortly after, the credit cards were used at two stores in Shirley Road. There is a picture of the suspect above using the cards in one of the stores, while wearing a hood and a face mask. And another below of him walking.

This comes at a time when many homeowners are worried about burglaries. The general advice is to ensure all doors and windows are secured, and to invest in a home alarm/camera system if you’re able to. Clear images like these can help investigations.

Police say that they have conducted enquiries, and are now releasing the images as part of their investigation.

They are keen to speak to the man pictured, so if you recognise him or have any information, please call 101 or report online, quoting 44220203767.
