Police uncover another cannabis factory

If you’ve seen an increase in police presence in Eastleigh today, specifically around Southampton Road, we’re now able to let you know why.

At around 9am this morning, 28 July,  police entered a property, wherein they found approximately 80-100 cannabis plants. The plants were at varying stages of growth, so it’s pretty clear that the property was being used as a ‘factory’.

The cultivation of cannabis involves quite a lot in terms of the set up required. Therefore, various people and organisations will now be tasked with ensuring the property, and those surrounding it are safe.

When publishing stories about Class B drugs, it’s often then cited by many as a minor crime. However, police are keen to stress that what may seem ‘recreational’, is not actually the case.  The cultivation and supply of drugs is directly linked to many other crimes, which is why it will remain high on the agenda for police to tackle.
