Attempted van theft in SO19

A resident of Wood Close, Sholing is appealing for locals to check any CCTV or ring doorbell footage from overnight last night, 11 July into 12 July.

A locked van was broken into, and from the evidence in the pictures, it’s fairly clear that those responsible were looking to steal the van rather than the contents.

As can be seen, a replacement ignition barrel has been attached to the van. It’s unclear at this stage why it wasn’t actually taken, but we can only assume something startled the perpetrators.

Not content with being unsuccessful in taking the van, the thieves did take a work coat, some aftershave and some industrial sized wipes. However, other items of value were left behind.
