Man named and charged following stabbing in London Road

Police have charged a man in connection with a stabbing, which took place in London Road at around 10am on Wednesday, 6 July.

Following swift action from
the police, they arrested a male following an incident in Parsonage Road later on Wednesday evening.

Samuel Woodford, 31, of Delorme Street, London, was charged with;

-Possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place

-Grievous bodily harm with intent

-Assault by beating of an emergency worker, namely a police officer

-Four counts of criminal damage to property valued under £5,000.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court this morning (8 July) where he was further remanded to appear at Southampton Crown Court on 5 August.
