Man receives serious injuries after suspected assault on London Road

Police were called to reports of an incident in London Road in the City centre shortly before 10am this morning.

A man in his 30s had been injured, and police attended the scene. The man was transferred to hospital with serious injuries; he remains there at this time.

Whilst the entire road was closed for a period of time, it has now reopened. However, given that police are treating the matter as a serious assault, they will remain in the area carrying out further investigations.
