Police catch children responsible for garage break ins

Some young lads got a bit of a shock when police caught up with them over the weekend.

It was reported that garages were being broken into in Thornkdike Close, in the Coxford area of the City.

On arrival, police found damage had been caused to garages, with contents having been ransacked, damaged and strewn all over the road. They also found those responsible; four young lads, just 11-13 years of age.

The boys were equipped with a pick axe, an axe and a sledgehammer. Naturally, police took these items from their possession, as well as some items they’d stolen from the garages and stashed in their pockets.

After aiding the police with the clear up, the boys were then escorted home to their parents. Further work will now be done with not only those responsible, but with the families too. The Youth Offending Service and City Council will also be involved, and the burglary will be handled over the coming days.

Let’s hope that lessons will be learnt.
