Man in his 50’s assaulted twice in same night by group

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man in his 50s was assaulted twice on Friday evening, 13 May. This was in the Midanbury/Bitterne area, SO18.

The man was firstly assaulted at around 8:30pmat the junction of Wakefield Road and Witts Hill. The second assault was shortly after at the junction of Vanguard Road and Lytham Road.

The victim suffered injuries to his face and was taken to hospital for treatment. He has since been released, and we hope he makes a full recovery.

Those responsible for the assault (3 or 4 people) are said to have been in a black, larger type vehicle, similar to a Range Rover. They stopped the vehicle, got out, assaulted the man, drove off, and then repeated the same.

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed anything. They’d also be keen to hear from anyone who was driving around the area at that time, as dashcam footage may provide further vital information.

If you can help, please contact the police on 101 quoting 44220189975. Again, our thoughts are with the victim.
