Three teens arrested after police chase

Police arrested three teenagers late last night, but are still trying to identify a fourth person.

At around 10pm, police spotted a purple Ford Focus going through a red light on The Avenue. They pursued the car, but on turning into Avenue Road, the driver and front seat passenger left the vehicle and fled.

Two 16 year old boys were still in the back of the car. There were also bolt cutters and other tools in the vehicle. As a result, both boys were arrested on suspicion of going equipped for burglary, and theft of a motor vehicle.

Around 30 minutes later, police were alerted to a male who had been spotted climbing on sheds in Ancasta Road. Police caught up with him and he was identified as the driver of the vehicle. He, an 18 year old, was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop a vehicle when instructed by police, and theft of a motor vehicle.

All three males remain in custody at this time, and police are making enquiries to identify the fourth person.
