Matt LeTissier deletes tweets and steps down as Southampton FC Ambassador

Many will have seen media coverage concerning Southampton legend, Matt Le Tissier. To confirm though, he has chosen to step down from his Ambassador role at the club.

A series of controversial tweets about the war in Ukraine weren’t well received to say the least. We aren’t here to judge, but here’s what he had to say;

“To all the fans of SFC. I have decided to step aside from my role as an ambassador of SFC. My views are my own and always have been, and it’s important to take this step today to avoid any confusion. This does not affect my relationship with and love for my club, and I will always remain a fan and supporter of everything Saints”

This latest Twitter statement followed others that implied that the Bucha massacre was lied about by the media. Understandably, his loyal fans didn’t welcome or share his views.
