Lead thieves arrested at Hanger Farm

In the early hours of this morning, police were called to the Totton and Eling Tennis Centre on Aikman Lane. A member of the public reported a suspected break in.

On arrival, around 2am, police and their four legged companions were able to locate two males in the nearby wooded area. They were duly arrested.

The two men were clearly up to no good, as they had bags of tools, gloves and head torches. Sounds more like they were geared up to go potholing, but it seems they were after the lead flashing from the roof of the tennis club, given the damage they caused.

A 39 year old from Totton was arrested on suspicion of theft and attempted burglary. A 19 year old, of no fixed abode has been arrested on suspicion of theft. It’ll come as no surprise that they both remain in custody.
