70 year old cyclist dies after being found injured on side of road

Police have put out an appeal for information following the tragic death of a man in Bishops Waltham.

Sometime between 6am and 8am yesterday morning, Saturday 6 August, a 70 year old man was found lying on a verge with his bike. This was on Peak Lane, Upham.

Emergency services did their best, but despite their efforts, the 70 year old cyclist died at the scene.

Via an online statement, Police Constable Adam Sandham, said;

“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, or anyone who witnessed what happened, to contact us as soon as possible. 

“We are also keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident who may have dash-cam footage.

“Any information regarding this incident, no matter how insignificant you believe it to be, could be key in establishing the exact circumstances and help aid our investigation.”

The next of kin for the deceased have been informed, and our thoughts are with all his friends and family at this sad time.
