68 year old man arrested for sexually harassing teen

Police have confirmed that a man has been arrested in connection with reports of sexual harassment of a teenage girl.

Between 7 January and 9 January, a man visited the same cafe in Wickham Square. Therein, he is alleged to have made unwanted sexualised comments towards one particular member of staff. Further, it’s alleged that he left a large tip specifically for her; this was refused.

After investigating the matter, police were able to identify the man. He was duly arrested on suspicion of attempting to incite a girl 13 to 15 to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity and harassment without violence.

The 68 year old Winchester man has been released on conditional bail until 16 April whilst further enquiries are made. Police have urged anyone with any information that may help to make contact with them.
