60 year old assaulted in SO14

An appeal has been launched for witnesses to come forward following an incident yesterday, Sunday 20 February.

Police were called to an address in Kent Street, Northam at around 5pm. Reports at the time were that there was a man outside another male’s flat making threats.

Subsequent to that, the man was able to gain entry to the flat, and a serious assault took place. The victim, a man in his 60s is now being treated for potentially life-changing injuries.

A 32 year old man was arrested at the scene, and police aren’t looking for anyone else in connection with the incident. They’re confident it’s an isolated event, but they’d like to hear from anyone who was around the area yesterday, and who may have seen or heard anything in the build up.
