40 year old charged with break in, assault and drug crimes
A 40 year old local man appeared in Court yesterday having previously been arrested for a number of offences.
The arrest of Joseph Horgan, of Howard Road, was made on 16 November. This was in connection with a few incidents, one of which was when a laundrette in Shirley was broken into on 3 September. During the break in, a vending machine was raided and £60 in cash was taken. Further, damage costing in the region of £300 was caused.
Horgan was charged with;
– Burglary other than dwelling – theft
– Two counts of theft from a shop
– Assault by beating
– Possession of a Class A drug – crack cocaine
– Possession of a Class A drug – heroin
Following his court appearance yesterday, Horgan was remanded in custody and will next appear at the Magistrates’ Court on 30 November.
